100cc 101" Superior RC Yak 54
Author Last Post
Guys,

I brought home a 100cc Yak 54 last week, before thinking about where I might store it or how I might haul it or (the truth) what my wife would think about it...  She thinks I had too many airplanes about 25 airplanes ago...

To make a long story short, Monica says the plane is too big and too expensive and my piloting skills are not up to this level of airplane so I'd better sell it before she sells me!

The airplane is 101" wingspan and is brand new in the original box which measures 17"x27"x84".  Main gear, Tailwheel bracket, wing and stab tubes are Carbon Fiber.  The hardware pack includes wheels, Carbon Fiber spinner, and from what I can tell, everything you will need short of radio, engine, and fuel system.  The airplane is built to accept twin canister mufflers, though you can certainly build it with stock mufflers for your engine.  Superior RC also had an innovation that I really liked.  They called them "pocket hinges" and it's basically a scale-like that is already fully installed, requiring no gluing.  Simply align the control surface with the installed hinges on the flying surface and insert the hinge pin, which is capped with a socket-head screw.  Thread the screw in and the assembly is complete.  The hinge has no gap and this eliminates the most common source of control surface flutter.  I could go on and on about how beautiful this airplane is.

As I said before, the plane is new in original packaging.  The box has been beat up a bit, including a huge forklift hole, but I have removed the contents and inspected it and find absolutely no damage to the airplane.

This plane retailed for $1250.  I will sell it to anyone in the club, delivered within 50 miles of Wentzville or picked up at my house in Wentzville for $1100.  I can't afford to trade for it unless you have something that Monica wants...  ;)

Anyhow, if this plane sounds like what you want / need, give me a call! 636-887-5201
